Cool and Useful Computer Projects

Are you looking for some cool and useful computer projects to dive into? Look no further! Here are some exciting projects that will not only challenge your skills but also expand your knowledge in the world of technology.

1. Digitize Your Vinyl Record Collection

If you still own your vinyl record collection with all those classic songs that you love but can't play on your smartphone, tablet, computer or in your car. Why not digitize those albums and convert them into mp3 files that you can carry with you and listen to anytime you want. And the cool part is all you need to digitize your vinyl records is a few handy tools and a little time. Check out my video to see how it's done. For the demonstration I am using one of my Windows computers and a USB audio interface that has both Phono and Line input jacks to digitize and send the signal to the computer. I am also using free audio editing from Audacity to edit the music into individual tracks and covert into Mp3 files.

2. Convert Your CD Collection To Mp3 Files

Do you still have your Audio CD's? Do you wish you could turn them into Mp3 files so you can listen to those songs without having to load the CD into a CD, DVD or Blue-Ray player to hear them? Well you can convert those CD's into Mp3 files with your computer and a USB thumb drive or external hard drive. Check out my video to see how it's done. For the demonstration I am using one of my Windows computers and the built-in Windows Media Player.

3. Scan and Digitize Your Old Photo Collection

Smart phones and tablets have made it so easy to take pictures of events and moments in our lives, just point and click and you have a picture of people places and events without having to take the pictures to a drug store to have the pictures developed like you did just a few years ago. But what about those old family photos that were taken with film cameras. Those old photos are one of a kind and can't be copied and emailed or texted to other family members and friends without first being digitized. Of course you can have those precious photos digitized by a company that specializes in converting photos to digital copies but that may cost a considerable amount of money depending on the number of photos you have. Also sometimes the photos you send out get lost in transit or by the company you hired to do the work in the first place. But you can digitize your own photos in your spare time and save money too. You will also have the advantage of sending family members their own set of family photos to keep on a USB thumb drive so that there will be safety copies just in case the original photos are lost or damaged.
